Claims for compensation

Of the approximately 20,100 requests for compensation submitted to the Canton of Zurich and Flughafen Zürich AG, over 14,330 (71 %) had been dealt with and CHF 84.6 million paid out in noise compensation by the end of 2020.

Test cases have been conducted for the efficient processing of pending compensation requests due to aircraft noise and/or direct overflights. These cases involve clarifying pending legal issues and assessing the legal aspects of the specific situation in various airport regions.

The legal basis for noise compensation generally applies to all of those affected. Pending claims are basically processed in the same way in all regions around Zurich Airport.
