Shaping –the future together

In this module, short videos provide practical insights into our individual apprenticeships. In addition, we present ourselves as an attractive trainer with many advantages, and provide information about our vocational training services and our application process.

This module is free of charge.

The class is divided into small groups, each of which discusses the most important aspects of its selected topic (trial apprenticeship, application dossier, job interview, etc.), works through them, presents them chronologically – and finally presents them in a plenary session. The focus here is on content (missing or complete), and on teamwork and presentation technique – both of which are assessment situations for the application process.

Simulated training interviews are conducted with interested students in a plenary session. Students e-mail their prepared application dossiers to the Flughafen Zürich AG vocational training department in advance for review. The vocational training department prepares individual written feedback on each application dossier, which is then sent to the students personally. In class, a selection (at least three) of these students are given a full job interview in three sequences in front of the whole class. The remaining students are divided into two groups of observers: one group observes the candidate, the other observes the interviewer. After each sequence, the interview conducted is analysed in a plenary session.

Career choice is just as important in the 2nd and 3rd years of secondary school as it is in the career choice years. There are many questions that parents ask themselves about the career choice process. How can I best help my child with the application process? What matters most in an application dossier today? What do interviews particularly focus on? We are happy to provide information at parents' evenings on central aspects of the career choice process, and to explain about current trends. Apprentices and/or trainers report on their experiences in the search for an apprenticeship, selection and expectations, and give valuable tips. Parents and teachers thus receive first-hand information on how they can help their son, daughter or students with their career choice and application process.
