ZRH Innovation Hub – a contribution to the future

The main task and mandate of the ZRH Innovation Hub can be summarised in the following elements:

Purpose

The ZRH Innovation Hub serves to strengthen innovation at Zurich Airport while making a positive contribution to the airport’s competitiveness and future viability.

Vision

The ZRH Innovation Hub is pioneering new technologies, methods and partnerships at Zurich Airport. It therefore supports the over-arching goal of Zurich Airport Ltd. to become the benchmark airport in terms of customer journey and efficiency in airport operations. 

Mission

The goal of the Innovation Hub is to test new ideas and technological solutions that either produce added value for passenger processes and customer experience or optimise processes and eliminate inefficiencies.

In addition, the Innovation Hub provides a platform for networking and exchanging ideas, so as to advance innovation overall and beyond the confines of Zurich Airport Ltd. for the benefit of the airport as a whole. Close networking both within the company as well as with external system partners and institutions serves to bundle resources in order to rapidly test and implement innovation projects.

The innovation team communicates openly and transparently via the various management levels and involves the relevant stakeholders in the projects early on. This in turn serves to ensure support and rapid scaling if projects demonstrate benefits and added value during testing.
