The heart-shaped donation boxes happily accept currencies from all over the world. A team of nine volunteers empties the donation boxes, sorts the notes and coins and exchanges them for Swiss francs. The money is then donated to SOS Children's Villages, the WWF and the canton of Zurich’s division of the Swiss Red Cross. In recent years, currency has been donated from 239 different regions and countries.

The heart-shaped donation boxes can be found at eleven locations at Zurich Airport: in check-in 1 and 2 (publicly accessible) and in all departure areas of docks A, B, D and E.
